Actress to spread green message

MUMBAI: Sienna Miller teamed up with Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday to urge Indians to do more to slow global warming. The 25-year-old actress met Bachchan in Mumbai at the start of a weeklong trip to India as an ambassador for Global Cool.

“If each one of us does our bit, we will be helping to keep global warming from harming our countries,” Miller said.

Bachchan, India’s biggest movie star, announced that the Indian International Film Academy would partner with Global Cool, an organisation that spreads awareness about global warming, to increase knowledge about greenhouse gas emissions.

“Carbon emissions will be huge from countries like India and China with growing populations and economy,” Bachchan said. “It will be wise to start doing whatever we can to protect our planet.”

Miller’s screen credits include “Factory Girl,” “Casanova,” “Alfie” and “Interview,” which opened in Los Angeles last week.—AP
