PTI asks govt not to fight US war in Pakistan

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, July 18: Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the country, especially in the NWFP and Fata, and asked the government to desist from fighting the US war on its own soil against its own people.

The PTI meeting, held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of party’s central deputy secretary general Javid Iqbal, also demanded withdrawal of army from Swat and other districts, according to a press statement issued by provincial secretary information Zahid Hussain Mohmand.

The meeting discussed the law and order situation in the NWFP and Fata after the Lal Masjid operation, and asked the government to stop fighting against its own people to please others.

In view of the deteriorating law and order situation in the NWFP and Fata, it was decided that the PTI would hold its meeting of the central executive committee in the first week of August in Peshawar.
